What has gotten into Enabled? Why now?
Because, we’ve reached a point where our portfolio now stacks over 100 products. Most of them are still amazing and up to design standards, some of them however, really need a face-lift, the latest generation coding techniques, weight reduction, etc, etc. We believe a product deserves updates, even it includes major overhauls.
Deleting old files? Nope! Not us!
A recent trend has started to unfold on the marketplaces, probably inspired by this new age of consumerism, where a file that was once great, is left to die, no updates, and slowly but certainly it goes to waste. Authors delete them only after years and years of dragging them through their portfolios, reducing prices and with them the quality of the market. We decided to do the exact opposite, and we’ll update all our products starting now.
Reduce the price of older products? Not the greatest idea!
The trend of reducing prices is again a disappointing one, sure, a price decrease after some time on the market is required, but reducing the prices to a few dollars just to get an extra buck or two here and there while selling an outdated design, filled with bugs and filled with errors is distasteful and honestly an absolute mockery.
Caring about Customers! Yes, please!
There are a lot of great and successful authors on the marketplaces, we’d like to think of ourselves as one of them, and we constantly re-iterate the importance of support. Customer care and customer respect is vital, and we’ll always give our absolute best to our beloved customers ( meaning all of them ) and this includes item updates. We don’t believe a product that’s Software based should reach an End of Life cycle. I mean, take some of the greatest examples out there. Mac, iOS, Windows, all of them have an initial purchase cost ( for some included in the hardware, not available in our case ) and all of them give you lifetime free updates. And they get better and better. This is our plan, and we’re sticking to it!
So what is Enabled planning to do? What’s the timeline? What’s included?
We’ll be updating our entire portfolio. Yes, that’s right. Our entire portfolio. When we reach the end, we’ll start over again, and again, and again, and always keep our items up to date. This will include all HTML, WordPress and AMP Files. We’ve already started the process. First on the list will be all our HTML products with WordPress and AMP to follow in the near future.
What features should you expect?
- jQuery & CSS Library Updates
- Extra essential pages and essential features.
- Full CSS rewrite to CSS3, graphical elements built using CSS3.
- Icons updated and/or removed in favor of FontAwesome 5
- All HTML Products will receive 2 versions. HTML + jQuery and Google AMP.
What will not be included in the item updates?
- Some Pages ( example: if an older item doesn’t have a store or news templates, we will not add them )
- Some Features ( example: if an older item doesn’t have chat or animated menus, we will not add them )
What will be the price for these updates? – 100% FREE!
If you’re already a customer of ours for the product that we’ll be updating ( meaning, everything in our portfolio ) just follow our blog. We’ll be constantly letting you know when an old item is updated, and you can download it for free!
How much will I pay extra if I’m not a customer already? – Only $2 or $3.
For the time being, we’re updating our collection of $12 files from the past. The ones that got an update will have their price bumped up by 2 or 3 Dollars. If you’re already a customer, that charge will not be added.
How long will it take?
We currently have around 70 files to update, we plan on releasing 1 to 2 updates weekly, but that schedule can vary. By our estimates, our entire product line will be fully updated by the end of 2018, to reflect the standards and coding techniques of 2018, and to show our everlasting love and respect for all our buyers.
